LIfe lately

First, I just want to say, thank you, everyone, for all your kind, sweet, encouraging words on my last post. They truly mean the world to me. I am sure at some point I will write more on that topic, but for now, I figure I'll lighten things up with some good old life lately content.

While I've been quiet online, it doesn't mean I haven't been busy. We start our 5th "official" (I don't count preschool) year of homeschooling, and that's been going, surprisingly, very well. I like to follow the advice of my dear friend, Amy, that "curriculum is for the unispiered days".
Oh, and our homeschool group is alive and thriving with over 100 families.

We spent our summer swimming, crabbing, and gardening. We went to the Renn Fest, Great Wolf Lodge (TWICE!), went hiking, saw the people-sized Bugs Life, and saw REAL fossils and dinosaur tracks at Dinonosaur State Park. We've been watching a lot of football, playing with LEGOs, reading books, drawing, building an outdoor (redneck) fireplace, going to the corn maze, and spending a lot of time bike riding.

Last weekend, we celebrated my sister Caroline getting married, and that was so much fun (scroll down to see some photos).

Today is Saturday. The kiddos are with their dad for the day, and I have all the things to catch up on - groceries, animal feed, laundry, maybe even a thrift store stop.

Tonight we are going to go visit a couple of local backyard haunted houses (we go every year) when they get home. Tomorrow is family dinner and football.

Off to drink more coffee and snuggle waking wee ones.
