Let's bring back 2005

Does anyone else miss the blogging days of the 2000s?

Maybe it's more that I miss the social media days of the 2000s.

People were nicer, content was less curated, and those (sometimes) daily posts were a peek into another life.

Random updates, unedited photos, recipes, giveaways, DIY projects, tutorials, book reviews, "What I wore" and more seem to be long gone.

I'm actually pretty sure that I'm one of the last standing when it comes to just plain old "life" blogging. Does that make me outdated? Or just stubborn when it comes to change?

Either way. I'm fine with it.

I honestly think it is just more of a social-media-evolving thing.

People tend to like things that are fast, and easy.

I mean, that's why we have fast food, smartphones, videos on demand, 2 days shipping, and high-speed internet, right?

I truly think that teenagers of today would die if dropped back into 1996.

That or thrive.

Don't get me wrong, I love modern technology. But I still (and am sure will always) miss the way things were "before". I tend to hate change and I feel like so far in my short(ish) lifetime I've seen and experienced a lot of it. So, I cling even more tightly to the familiar and the past.

That said, here's a good old "throwback" blog post for your viewing pleasure (and to give you a flashback).

It's all uncuranted photos and real life.

Lazy river days, homemade food,, blue chicken eggs, Sunday explorations, blueberry picking, seafood, sand, and afternoon reading.

Altogether a lot of life-lately here in our neck of the woods as we soak up the last month of (official) Summer before we start school again.
