after the weekend

If you follow me on Instagram you'll have already seen that I've been in Connecticut visiting my family for the past week. We've been having so much fun seeing everyone, and of course Adri is having a blast (like she always does) playing with her cousins.
We are heading back home at some point this week, and while we are really missing Adam and can't wait to see him, we're going to miss everyone here as well.

We've been doing a lot of stuff and staying busy (I still have work so it's all a delicate balance, evening out work and play ;)) and on Saturday we went to Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA. We used to go there all the time when we lived in Connecticut, but I hadn't been since we moved (over ten years ago!). Strange to say pretty much everything was exactly the same. Hardly any changes made to either the place or the people working there!

Other than all the fun there have been a few not-so-fun things, including two sick kiddos (everyone has a bad cold), a  trip to the ER (no worries, I thought Adri might be getting an ear infection, but she's not), and lack of sleep (because, sick kiddos). A little real life there for you all ;)

Have a great Monday!

  1. I have never seen Sturbridge Village, and I really appreciate all your wonderful photos of it. We have Hale Farm and Village here, and the part of Ohio where I live is called The Western Reserve. It's the Western Reserve of the State of Connecticut and many soldiers from there from the revolutionary war settled here and some places still have a look similar to early Connecticut.

  3. Lovely photos - a lot of them remind me of pics that were on your dear mum's Eyes of Wonder blog when you were a little girl. There were barnyard animals, old world kitchens, girls, littles and babies back then too!
