Dearest Adri

A letter to my toddler.
June 15th, 2017.

Dear Adri Rose,

You are now two whole years old, and what a two year old you are!
You are sweet, feisty, gentle, playful, full of fun, and stubborn as a mule. Your smile is the cutest little thing, and your giggle makes me laugh.

You love to sing and dance. You can count to ten, and say your ABC's. You love Winnie the Pooh movies, and call your stuffed Piglet and Pooh "Piggy-Pooh". Your favorite thing to do is read books. You wait each night for me to get home from the library and bring you books to read. And then cry tears if I happen to forget them (thankfully that only happens once in a blue moon).

You love to splash in puddles and dig in dirt, but you also hate to be dirty. A weird combination.

I love the way you kiss my belly, and talk to "Bump". That you know it's your little sister in there and keep talking about "the baby". You are going to be such a wonderful big sister.
It's also so precious how much you love your daddy. You smile so big, and get so proud when we say that you look just like him. You always want to wear his hat, and follow him everywhere.

Some of my favorite nights are the ones when it's late and you're not sleepy, so we make popcorn and watch Disney movies. It's stuff like that that I never want to forget.

I'm really treasuring the last few days that we have, just the two of us, hanging out all day together while daddy's at work. Soon we'll be a family of four. You'll have a little sister tagging along and there will be three of us sitting on the couch, eating popcorn.

But for now, it's just you and me. Splashing in the pool, eating popsicles, reading stories, watching Winnie the Pooh (for the hundredth time), dancing to Barney songs, singing the ABC's, cuddling on the couch, and playing ball.

You are a wonderful person Adriana Rose. I love the person you are, and can't wait to see the person you are going to become.

Love, Mommy.
