Autumn Ramblings

The days are growing shorter and colder and we have the wood stove burning most days.

Tip is growing so big and is such a sweet little kitty.

School is begun, a new year of learning.

Julia working on a knitting project- I think it is a scarf.

Yesterdays bread baking.

Ready to pop into the oven.

Fresh bread.
This reminds me of Benny in Surprise Island.......bread and milk.

Curling up reading in front of the wood stove on a rainy day......so cozy....

..and listening to beautiful music.

The Gathering Circle.

Cloudy skies.

~Butterfly Hunting~

::Saturday::

Up in the field, looking for monarch caterpillars.

The little ladies joined me in the hunt.

Flowers.

The caterpillars feed on the leaves of the milkweed plant.

We found one!
( actually, we found two).

We brought them home to put in jars to watch them spin their chrysalis, and then to emerge a butterfly!

A nearby neighbor.

And we came back with a big bouquet for the table.

  2. Always enjoy reading about your days. Your living room/gathering room area is lovely. I just love all the books waiting to be gobbled up by knowledge seekers! :)

I am curious if you have been drawing much lately. I have seen some of your art in your mama's posts from previous times and just love them. :)

  3. Rosie: I believe "The Gathering Circle" says it all. Beautiful pictures from beautiful people. Autumn is just peeking its head out here - we are cooler, but still about 80 most days. My allergies have cleared up some, so that is a good thing. I will be off this Friday, so will be posting again then, doing some baking as well. Much love to you and yours - Raquel XOxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

  4. We planted milkweed in our back garden last year. My grandsons and I found a caterpillar on one this year. We, too, have put him in a jar and hope to see some action soon. LOL
Blessings to you, Rosie. I love your photos.
    Yours,
    Rosemary
