Halloween 2021

“In November, the trees are standing all sticks and bones. Without their leaves, how lovely they are, spreading their arms like dancers. They know it is time to be still.”
~Cynthia Rylant

HALLOWEEN: Halloween is our second favorite holiday (after Christmas). The girls spend all year talking about who they are going to be and finally settle on who (or what) around mid to end of September. This year they were Evie and Mel (from Disney's Descendants) and it was the cutest!

OUR WEEKEND: We kicked off Halloween weekend with a family Halloween party on Friday night, and then on Sunday carved pumpkins and went trick or treating later in the evening. This year we walked our new neighborhood and got to meet a bunch of neighbors. The kids lasted about three blocks, got tons of candy, and then they were ready for bed (honestly, I think Adam and I wanted to stay out longer than they wanted to!).

THIS MONTH: I can't believe that we are already in November! I've already started our Christmas shopping, and the girls are talking about our Elves (we have three) on The Shelf coming back after Thanksgiving.

THE WEATHER: The weather here is officially chilly. This morning it was in the 30's and while during the day it warms up to in the 50's that means it's COLD at night! I think it's time to pull out some knitting projects...

DRAMA: My washer decided to stop working a few weeks ago, and after attempting to fix it ourselves (with the help of my dad) we gave up and called a repairman. A broken pump, $300, and a week later we should have a working washer later today. I've been doing laundry at my dad's (which I'm grateful for) but I can't wait to have MY washer up and running again. Between  Adam's job (welding) and two messy children, we generate a lot of laundry...

LIFE: We've still been busy with school (we take the entire month of December off school, so I've been trying to be really good about not skipping any days between when we started school and then), and Adam and I with work.

BUMP UPDATE: I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and still feeling as sick as ever. Throw in a lot of exhaustion and you've got a great recipe (lol). Anyway. I think that I've officially got a bit of a bump showing, but if I wear a loose top it's impossible to tell that I've got a BOB (baby on board). The girls can't wait to find out what we are having, and we've been tossing a lot of names around (we're pretty set on a girl's name, but not so much on a boy's).

I'm off to start school with the kiddos here soon here and probably make a cup of tea. Have a lovely Thursday!

Past Halloweens: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
