Day In The Life: October 2020 Edition

I wrote this earlier this week (on Tuesday) but am just now getting around to posting it. For some reason, these little DITL posts are extremely popular around here.  I guess you all enjoy a little look into what our average day looks like? Anyway, this was a random day that I picked and documented. 

Here you go. A totally random, unplanned DITL, complete with work, homeschooling, making food, meltdowns, and trashing the house! 

Tuesday, 10. 13. 2020

6:15. Piper wakes and starts to stir. I go in and spend some time with her, trying to get her to fall back to sleep. I give up at 6:40 and we get up for the day (on most days, 90% of the time I wake at 6:30 and work for about an hour and a half before Piper wakes). 

7:00. I settle Piper on the couch with a t.v show, and snack (she loves to eat first thing in the morning) and I start the coffee brewing. I sit and answer emails for a while. 

8:00. Piper watched t.v. for about 15 minutes and now she's playing. I stop working and drink my coffee. Adri wakes and comes out to play with Piper. 

8:30. My sister calls and we talk on the phone while I make breakfast for us. We then eat, clean the kitchen, I throw dinner in the crock-pot (pork roast, carrots, and potatoes), and pick up the house a little. I also throw a load of laundry in the wash and feed the animals. 

9:45ish-10:45. We do our table-time school. Workbooks, handwriting, and math. Adam wakes up around this time. He is home for the day since he was out of town all week and got home late last night. 

11:00. I set Adri up with a craft project (making sock puppets) and Piper watches LeapFrog Letter Factory. I do some more work and check to see what else  I need to do for the day (such as planning for a work meeting at 12). 

11:30. I pop lunch in the oven (leftover pasta and meatballs, with mozz cheese) and we play with the guinea pigs for a bit. 

12:00. I have a meeting for about 30 minutes, and then we have lunch.

1:00. We read some books, I work some more, and the kiddos play. 

2:30. Piper finally crashes for her nap that she's been fighting, while Adri has Quiet Time. I get busy and work for another hour.

3:30. I leave to work my night job (I work a few hours at night, Monday through Wednesday) and Adam watches the girls.

8:15. I arrive home. The kiddos and Adam have already eaten and they have their p.js on. We pick up the house, and Adam heads to bed. The kids and I watch an episode of our current t.v. show (right now we are watching Fuller House) while I eat dinner, and then it's bedtime. 

9:00. We brush teeth, I put the kids in bed and tell them a story, and they crash. 

9:30. Kiddos are out. Sometimes I watch a bit of whatever show I am watching, or I just crash into bed too. 

10:00 Everyone asleep! (Let's be real though. Sometimes the night is crazy and the kids don't fall asleep until more like 10:00, and I don't fall asleep until 11:00! This is most nights though).
