summer things

Just some snapshots from our summer. Last weekend we celebrated the littlest sister's beloved pup's 4th birthday.  We've been spending our days swimming, taking walks, reading, drawing, and painting, and playing in the fairy garden. Oh, and eating ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream.

I notice that the mornings are darker and cooler. Fall is headed our way (although in New England it's not until October that it really gets cold)!

I have to admit, this has been a strange, strange year. Nothing has gone how I expected it to, and some of that can be discouraging. There is much that I don't talk about online, and this little glimpse of our world that I share here is a very, very small one. We, just like many others, have had some very big ups and downs. I'm looking forward to starting a new year here soon and seeing what that holds. 2020 has had some golden moments, but I'm ready to leave it behind and move forward!

I hope each one of you has a lovely weekend. Today promises to be stormy and wet, so we are taking things easy and enjoying a day at home (I have a chicken that I plan on roasting this afternoon).

Happy Saturday!

  1. 2019 was a horrid year for us and I was SO happy to get started on 2010...which has had more than enough stresses of its own. Some years we just plow through the best we can. I am happy for you that you have such a large family nearby and often are with them.

  2. It has been a crazy year. Truly. Praying you are all well. I'm glad for your fun outings to beach and parks and fun times with family. Special for the kids to have their cousins to grow up with. Piper's dress is so cute!
