Day 104506 of social distancing

{posted this on Instagram last week, but posting it again, here, for posterity's sake}

The other day I was bemoaning to Adam that we were missing Spring. Like, by the time things are up and running and we are out and about again it will be Summer (or, worse, FALL). ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
But then I took a step back and did some thinking. We're actually not really missing out on Spring. And this time of isolation and the four of us being stuck at home together has held some hidden gems.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
  • We have spent time growing closer as a family. Every time that Adam is off work for any significant period of time (not that that has been often) the girls bond more with him. They don't want to see him go back to work next week!⁣⁣⁣
  • We have found some really cool new hiking places and spent tons of time outside (#1000hoursoutside goal, checked). ⁣⁣⁣⁣
  • We have found time to do hundreds of crafty things (much to Adri's delight). ⁣⁣⁣
  • ⁣⁣⁣Adri is learning to read and it's been really special to watch. She'll be FIVE in less than 2 months. Where does the time go?⁣⁣⁣
  • Our home library of 1000s of books? I knew it would come in handy.
  • ⁣⁣⁣My house has never been cleaner. Seriously, it's ridiculous.⁣⁣⁣
  • ⁣⁣⁣I have learned that while I'm a massive introvert there's nothing like human companionship (OUTSIDE of my household). Guys, I MISS PEOPLE!

  1. Same here! I so look forward to spending time with all our friends again AND being able to give them a big hug.
