after the weekend: you guys, I caved

I must confess, it happened, I finally gave in and turned into one of those people that play Christmas music (gasp) before Thanksgiving.
It was just all so festive here over the weekend. We had snow falling outside, my Christmas Cactus was blooming, we hung white lights on the porch,  and even went and did some Christmas shopping. The only thing missing was the proper music to go with the mood. Don't worry though, I'm easing into it slowly with the instrumental stuff like Celtic Christmas, and not going straight to the classics. There's still a time and place, even if it's deciding just the right day to play what Christmas music ;)

So, our weekend: Adam went hunting, we made lots of warm oven food (roast chicken, baked fish), watched the last Pirates movie, cuddled on the couch, read some books, and watched (I'm ashamed to admit) far too many episodes of The Office. It looks like this might be how our winter is going to be spent, and I've to be honest, I really don't think I'd mind. After such a busy Spring, Summer, and Fall (hello, new baby), a quite, cozy Winter is sounds pretty good.

That's still early out right now, Adri is sleeping, snow is falling, the coffee is ready to pour, I have emails to answer, still have to walk, and Piper is starting to fuss. Have a lovely Monday!

  1. I played Celtic Christmas music yesterday while writing a blog post. In a weird way, instrumental doesn't seem like rushing the Season. :)

    1. I agree! I also have a hard time since I pretty much stop playing Christmas music right after Christmas, so it seems like such a short amount of time. Maybe I'm trying to extend it a bit? lol

  2. I have been playing that same kind of Christmas music! I'm not quite ready for the classic Christmas style, but soon!

    Darling baby!

  3. Beautiful photos of the girls! Makes me want to pick them up and have a cuddle! I'm impressed with your delicious looking meals. You do well to organize them with two little people 'helping'!
