What's in my shopping cart

It's been awhile, but I've finally gotten around to posting another grocery shopping post. Here is this week's (well, technically last week's but we're eating it this week) grocery haul.

First let me say though, I was pretty proud because it was the second time I've gone shopping on my own with both girls, and since the first time was a disaster it was a little worry-inducing. Everything went great though, so I guess second time's a charm!

We recently just had an Aldi open near us so I went there, since lately we have been trying to switch up grocery stores (when we get tired of eating one way we try a new store and inevitably the groceries we buy change, and therefore the meals do).

related: What's Cooking?

As always, before shopping I check the fridge, freezer, and cupboard to see what we still have and what we are low on and needs restocking up.

For fruits and veggies I bought:

Lettuce.
Baby carrots.
Green peppers.
Potaotes.
Bananas.
Grapes.

For dairy I bought:

Sour cream.
Milk.
Butter (it was one sale so I bought eight pounds--I'll throw most of them in the freezer).
Half and half.
Coffee creamer.
Eggs.

Meat:

Bacon.
Roasting chicken.
Sausage.
Big box of burger.

Dry/canned goods:

Tortillas.
Canned tomatoes.
Coffee.
Flour.
Brown Sugar.
Crackers.
English Muffins.
Juice (I make popsicles out of it for Adri).

Snacks (Adam and Adri need their snacks!):

Crackers.
Goldfish.
Cookies.
Chocolate. Dark for me, and white for Adam (we sometimes have it as a treat after dinner).
Lots of chips (I've been trying to go healthier on the chips lately so we've been eating more baked and tortilla).

I think that's it!

So, the total for all that was $87 (and some change). This will last us at least for a week (more likely bit longer). We already had a stocked pantry,  and some things in the fridge like yogurt, cheese, other veggies, and condiments. I try never to let things get down to empty, that way I'm never having to rush to the store to get food and can pick any day that works best for me.

I few of the meals that I'll make out of all this are: tacos, roast chicken dinner, chicken pot pie, meatballs and mashed potatoes, sausage and peppers, meatloaf and roasted veggies, and bacon/noodles/cheese/veggie bake.
