after the weekend: pumpkins, colds, Stranger Things, and back to work

Hello, and happy Monday! It's raining and a bit chilly here this morning. We are taking things easy because 1, we all have a miserable cold that has us feeling a bit under the weather, and 2, I go back to work today so I'm snuggling my babies as much as I can before I leave.

We had a funny (funny as in strange, not humorous) weekend around here.
Saturday was beautiful (weather-wise) and since Adam was squirrel hunting I decided to take the girls and the little sisters and go to the pumpkin festival. We saw lots of pumpkins, pumpkin carving, and watched the live music. Adri was in her element. There was even a Poppy pumpkin, and when  saw it she started squealing.

And then yesterday (Sunday) we woke up to dark skies, and a wet, cold, and blustery morning. We spent almost the whole entire day inside watching Stranger Things. We did take a short break in the afternoon to take the girls for a drive so they could nap before coming home to a dinner of roast chicken and more S.T. Lazy Sundays are my favorites, so it was kinda the perfect day for me.

So yes. Busy Saturday and laid back Sunday. Complete opposites, but still both wonderful.

Tomorrow is Halloween! Am I the only super excited person? We are having our annual party and I'm making Butterbeer (for the first time) and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Now I have leftover chicken boiling for soup tonight, laundry to hang up, and a spooky movie to watch with Adri.
