after the weekend: it flew by too fast

I sure could use another weekend, since this past one flew by and I can't believe it's already Monday again. I'm really not ready for a new week right now.
I think the lack of sleep is finally catching up to me (3-4 hours a night is not enough for a human to properly function on). Although, to to be honest I'm kinda surprised I've haven't crashed before this. lol

Morning coffee is the first thing I need to start my day and get my brain moving. I stopped by the side of the road and grabbed some free stuff and this cup was in there. Of course when I used it yesterday morning Adri promptly knocked it over and broke it. Figures. Well, that pretty much sums up motherhood for you, right?

Every Saturday or Sunday we have waffles for breakfast. This time instead of blueberries we put some of our black raspberries in them.

Sunday afternoon we took a little stroll to the cemetery up the road. Adri ran around, Piper slept the whole time, and Adam and I got some time to just sit and talk.

While we are on the subject of Piper. How is it that she's already two whole weeks old? She been eating so much I can't wait to find out how much she weighs at her doctors appointment later this week.

On Saturday Adam went fishing with a friend, and I took the girls and went up to my parent's house. I was so great to see Julia and visit for the afternoon. Everyone dubbed on Piper and she got passed around and held by all the sisters.

We harvested the last of our Brussels Sprouts last week. They were SO good. I can't wait to have a bigger garden next year and plant way more of everything.
Adam has been dehydrating the last of our tomatoes so I think I might have to buy some more just to make sauce out of. We really could have planted twice as many plants and still used them (the tomatoes) all up.

Okay, I'm off to nurse the baby (she's fussing), read to Adri, get some work done, and try to fit in a nap at some point today.

Happy Monday!

  1. Sounds like a fun weekend! It's nice you can get to your parents and see your sister without travelling too far. Great job on the garden! Piper is precious. Christina
