Surviving Stella

{drawing is currently Adri's favorite thing to do. She's pretty good at keeping the pencils and markers on the paper, but apparently yesterday she decided to color her face ;)}

We are currently going on day number 2 of being snowed in. Both Adam and I had work off today and yesterday (there is a travel ban right now). The weather forecast claims that things are going to be clear by tomorrow though and I really hope so since I have a 16 week bump appointment that I don't want to miss (it's always so fun to hear the baby's heartbeat!). Plus being snowed in is fast losing its charm.
I've been busy with work (online stuff, since I can't leave the house), cooking food, baking bread, drawing with Adri, reading (for me, the Honor Girl, and for Adri numerous Winnie the Pooh books), and cleaning. Speaking of cleaning. There is still so much unpacking to do, but I'm really just not feeling inspired to unpack or hang any artwork (see the above picture of the kitchen table and all the art still leaning up against the walls).

Side note: I really love my big window in the kitchen. I now need to hang up a bird feeder so we can watch the birdies gather to eat while we have our breakfast.

Just when we thought Spring was headed our way (and according to the calendar it still is!) we get hit with the biggest storm of the year. #thanksstella. However, I am trying to stay positive, soak in the coziness and admire the whiteness--from the safe distance of the warmth of the house.

Now I'm off to sweep my floor, put Adriana down for a nap and re-heat my cup of coffee.

Happy Wednesday!

    1. I'm so envious--the 90's?? That sounds wonderful right now. You are right though, Spring is already here and I'm sure the warm weather is following close behind! lol

  2. I have never commented before. I was a big fan of your mother's blog, and I remember while reading it about you. You were always sewing or making something new for your sisters, I so enjoyed everything about it. I now enjoy reading about you and your family just as much. I had to comment though when you said you were reheating your coffee. Weird I know, but I also end up reheating my coffee, sometimes two or three times, on busy days before I finally just give up. Have a blessed week!

    1. Hi Mona! I always love hearing from lurkers ;) It's so fun to hear from people that read my mom's blog and now read mine (I think that's quite a few folks too). The reheating coffee thing seems to be happening a lot lately! lol

  3. P.s. the time to worry is when she learns to use scissors.

    1. I ended up missing the appointment :( I decided it wasn't worth braving the snow and bad weather just for the appointment. I do have it rescheduled however.

  5. I remember one year when my daughters were very little (so, more than 35 years ago) one day in mid-March it was so warm I dragged out their wadding pool for them to cool off in. Two days later there was so much snow I could hardly make it out the door! That's what makes life so interesting. Looks as though your new home will be wonderful and you are doing a great job arranging your things in it. Be well!

    1. Oh my goodness, that's crazy! Kinda like what we had though. It was so warm for a couple weeks and then all the sudden we got so much snow and it got COLD.
      we love our new place and even though it's going slowly we are settling in :)
