after the weekend: birthdays, apple eating, and snow

What a weekend! We've had snow for the past three days and it's really piled up out there. Adam got stuck in the driveway on his way to work this morning. Thankfully he did manage to pull the car out and be on his way though.
As I type we are still watching the snow fall outside our windows. I'm drinking tea, and Adri's watching Daniel Tiger. I'm going to head over to the site in a bit and find some activities to keep Adriana busy today (we're kinda all done with books, toys and t.v after three days of them).

Where's your nose, Adri Rose? She love pointing out her nose, ears, eyes, hair, hands and feet. She also knows her alphabet and most of her colors. She's getting so big so fast.

So much snow out there. This was from Saturday afternoon (I worked a long day on Saturday and didn't get home until 3:00pm.) and it started snowing more that night, all day yesterday, last night, and is STILL snowing now.

Thursday was Adam's birthday and then Saunday was mine. He was so sweet. He made me blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast, tacos for dinner, watched Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children with me, and even let me take a long three hour nap! It was a nice, slow, snowy birthday.

I made us both a cheesecake (our favorite cake) and although I used the same recipe I always use for some reason it flopped. It's like everything separated. I'm still scratching my head and trying to figure out what I did differently (nothing). Hmmm.

One last cute picture from at the grocery store on Friday. Adri waves to people and yells "hi" the whole time. A little awkward and super adorable.

Now it's Monday. My house is a wreck, and I have (literally) a mountain of dishes to wash.
We aren't really making any plans for Valentine's Day this year. In a week or so we're going to go on our annual weekend-away and then we'll celebrate a late Valentine's Day and all that. All the pressure of planning anything is gone this year, and it's kinda nice :)

Have wonderful Monday!
