after the weekend: lovely weather, crafting, and more birthdays.

Despite the fact that Adam was sick with a stomach bug and Adri was teething the whole weekend long I manged to somehow get some crafting done, a long walk in, and the house cleaned.
On Saturday Adri and I went up to Wesleytown to celebrate two more birthdays with the family: Stan Lee turned 23 and Oliver turned 17! I'm telling you, all this siblings-growing-up has me starting to feel like an old lady ;)
A while back the little sisters got Adri all those magnetic letters for the fridge. I haven't brought them out before now because some of the letters are just a tad bit on the small side (not a good thing for little mouths). Well, anyway, I finally brought them out on Saturday and she LOVED them. She can also now sing her alphabet along with me in her tiny baby voice. Oh, my, toddlers are such fun!
We watched the new Alice in Wonderland (Through the Looking Glass) Friday night and it was soooo good! I actually liked it much better than the first one (Alice in Wonderland). It was the kinda good that makes you want to go back and watch it over again right away.
After making the paper plate turkeys I hung them on the wall across from Adri's bed and she's been giggling and pointing to them every time she looks at them hanging there. I taught her how to say turkey and it's currently her new favorite word.
My book I'm reading is almost finished. As much as I love Julie and Julia, it's my second time reading it and for some reason it's taking longer than usual to read. If you haven't read it yet though, please do. It's a wonderful read.
I'm trying so hard to use self control and not start decorating for Christmas quite yet. But you guys, it's not easy. All I can think about is lights, snow flakes and music. We'll have to see how long I can hold out. However at this rate it's a losing battle though...

So now it's the start of a new week. I have lots to do today and I'm off to get a head start on it. There's work to do, books to read, a roast to pop in the oven for dinner tonight, and plants to water.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and you all have a lovely Monday!

  1. Great post Rosie. I say go ahead and decorate for Christmas. We have had our tree up for 2 weeks now. I just love having the tree up....makes our home so nice and cozy.
    Wishing you a blessed week,

  2. I hope Adam feels better!

Toddlers are so much fun! Cute turkeys! I'll have to do that one with my granddaughter today.

I can't believe your siblings are getting so old either! Weren't they just those nice little kids playing together on your Mama's blog?

Your roast sounds good - I made one last week and it was devoured by the clan here! Beef and rice is on the menu for tonight. So good.

    Have a great week!

I know, I can't believe that they are all so big now. Oli has his permit and taking his drivers test soon!
We love beef and rice around here. How do you make yours? Do you have a recipe that (if you don't mind) you could give me?
