What we've been watching/1.0

Yes, I read a lot. But I'm also not one to turn down a good movie or show. I love hearing book recommendations and also giving them, but sometimes all you need is something to watch. That being the case, I figured I'd share a few of our favorite shows with you guys.
Okay, the number one thing to keep in mind is that while Adam and I have shows that we both like to watch, there are some that he will just not get into, therefore it's only me watching it.

My shows:

New Girl. Quirky roommates and awkward situations sums this show up. Plus, who doesn't love Zoe? One of my favorite shows of all time.

About a Boy. I love this show! It's sweet, silly, and full of drama-but the good kind. And yes, it is based on the old About a Boy movie starring Hugh Grant.

Mad Men(I just watched the show finale!) One of my favorite shows ever. The first season was a little difficult for me to get into, but after that I was hooked.

Jane The Virgin. Still a virgin, but have a baby? Yup. Crazy, funny, and very soap opera ish. That's this show. I still like it though ;)

Switched At Birth. Another favorite show. It's about two girls that get switched at birth and it's only brought to light 17 years later. This is a great family show. Just a lot of good vibes in it ;)

Downton Abbey. Ah, Downton. Love that show (of course, duh, along with everyone else).

Death Comes To Pemberley. I usually don't like spinoffs, but this time they really did an excellent job. It's about Darcy and Elizabeth, 7 years later. They have a son and a murder case on their hands. The acting is superb as well.

Shows the two of us watch:

Alf. Stands for Alien Life Form. This is an old show from the 80s and one of our favorites. Great for the whole family.

Dark Matter. We found this on Netflix and kinda just got into it. Now we are waiting for the next season to come out. It's sci-fi and kinda corny but still good (reminds me a little of Joss Whedon's Firefly (another good show to watch, if you haven't).

Empire. This show is right up in the favorites category. It reminds a lot of Mad Men, as far as the "classiness" goes. The plot is good, but the music is better (should be the hashtag).

Vikings. They're bold, brave, and bloodthirsty. Aired on the History Channel this show is not only excellent, but also an accurate depiction of the times. We really got into it when I was preggie, and are even more into it now.

The Walking Dead. Not for the faint of heart. This show has gotten gorier as it goes along, and I'm not a super fan of gore. But still we got caught up in all the drama and NEED to see what happens next. If you don't like action, near-death encounters, zombies, blood, and fighting for your life-all-the-time,then this is not your show!

Breaking Bad. This show. Sigh. My top favorite show ever. A bit hard to get into at first, but by the end of the first season you will be hooked. I promise.
It's basically about a teacher, who upon finding out that he is terminally ill decides to make a lot of money. Fast.
Really. Try it, and then come back and thank me later.

Better Call Saul. Everyone loved Breaking Bad so much they did a spin-off show based on one of the main characters. This show is really good too. Just make sure you watch B.B first ;)

  1. I just never really find time to watch much...partly because I don't like to watch things with children around...we are kinda of strict about what our children watch. We also don't have tv so we have to get things through the library. ;) I know, Stone Age. ;) The Viking one sounds the most interesting to me!
