Written this morning, posted this evening.

:Today: 1-14-2015:

Inside: I'm sitting curled up on the couch. I have a big mug of steaming tea beside me, and I'm listening to to the fish tank bubbling in the corner. I have candles lit, and, though I took the Christmas decorations down, I still have the lights all about the house, and they send a happy glow all about.

Outside: It's so cold. I was up early this morning for milking, and there was frost and snow everywhere. The weather keeps changing so fast each week-cold, warm, and then back to cold again, I haven't sure what to expect these past few days.

Creating: I've been knitting a bit (wash cloths and baby things) as I find time, although, since I've still been very busy lately that's not quite as often as I'd like.

In the kitchen: I'm about to go and make myself some breakfast-four a.m comes early, and about now I'm good and hungry. I'm thinking fried potatoes, eggs and cheese sounds particularly good right now.

For dinner I have turkey that I boiled down. I'll de-bone it, add lots of garlic and onions, carrots, cabbage, and homemade noodles, and we'll have soup and bread for dinner. Just the thing for this chilly January day.

Lately: I'm not a winter person at all, and the month of January is long, so it's difficult not to start feeling just a bit down about now. Of course being occupied with work helps, and we've also been trying to keep busy, hanging out with the siblings (they come over and we eat good food, watch movies, and play games. Right now Trivial Pursuit and Pitch are the two most popular). I've been reading a lot, and we've been garden planning (always so exciting!).

Oh, and we take frequent trips to the library next door as well (after living out in the country for so long, it's taking me awhile to get used to living in town, and having such conveniences as library, and grocery store so nearby).

Plans: Today I have a Dr.s appointment. So, I'll have to make the snowy trek to the office and back, later this morning. The wee one has been growing so fast lately, and starting to move about a bit-so exciting!

This afternoon I have some house cleaning to do, and then I'll just be good and lazy, reading- I have this new cookbook {a Christmas gift} to peruse; drawing, baking, and watching Middlemarch for the rest of the day.

  4. Congratulations on your baby girl. Your young life seems so very blessed, enjoy it and cherish every second with your little one, as your own mother could confess I'm sure, our children do grow oh so quickly. My four are all but grown now and have blessed me with a total of 11 grandchildren, but it seems as only yesterday when I first set eyes on my own firstborn, a baby girl as well. You will be a wonderful mama to be sure dear one......it is God's way for women, it is our greatest calling, to nurture! Blessings on your little family and home ♡

  5. Lovely post, as always. I hope your appointment with the doctor went well.

Do you mind telling me the name and colour of the yarn you are using? It looks so pretty.

    Thanks! :)
