The past week.

: visiting a new church.

:baking lots of bread {sourdough and regular}.

:reading Walk Across America and The Foxfire Book.

:making lots of pudding {with so much milk around here it would be hard not to!}.

:making butter {again, the same argument that applies to the pudding...}.

:finding a bunch of great books at a thrift store for only $0.50 each!

:trying out new recipes {five days of the week three of us here take turns cooking lunch}.

:working on knitting projects {in what spare time I have}.

:feeding calves.

:then there are also all the barn chores~like cleaning pens, feeding grain and hay to the cows, milking, etc....

:taking long walks. The picture below was taken on top of the small mountain that is on the farm where we are and the view is overlooking the whole property.

:reading these good quotes:

"In the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it will shine out clearer."
Samwise Gamgee--The Two Towers.

“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
C.S. Lewis
"My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust.
But how had I got this idea of ‘just’ and ‘unjust’?

A man does not called a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line.

What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust? . . .

Of course I could have given up my idea of justice by saying it was nothing but a private idea of my own. But if I did that, then my argument against God collapsed too– for the argument depended on saying that the world was really unjust, not simply that it did not happen to please my private fancies. . . . Consequently atheism turns out to be too simple."

C.S. Lewis

:watching this short film:

:and having a wonderful time!

  2. It sounds like you all are having a good time and staying very busy (but I know that was pretty normal for you).
Thank you for posting the video--it was quite powerful.
BTW, we're quite open to having pudding sent our way! ;-)

  3. The Dove ad made me cry. Such an interesting and powerful experience for the women who were sketched. I do wonder sometimes how people see me, and how it compares to how I think I look. I don't wear makeup and sometimes I feel that pull from our culture to make myself look different than how God has made me. In the end, I always decide He knows best. :)
