::At Home::

First of all a very happy Independence Day to you all!
I'm so glad that we live in a land that we have the freedoms that we do.

The other day...

....taking a walk up in the fields.
The path.

"I stood tip-toe upon a little hill,
The air was cooling, and so very still,
That the sweet buds which with a modest pride
Pull droopingly, in slanting curve aside,
Their scantly leaved, and finely tapering stems,
Had not yet lost those starry diadems
Caught from the early sobbing of the morn.
field."

Julia and I just recently watched "Bright Star", a movie about the love story of John Keats and Fanny Brawne. It is a beautiful movie and so well done.
After we rented a bunch of books on his life and his poetry from the library, to be able to learn more about him.

The beauty of trees.

Berries.

Crab apples.

Looking for monarch caterpillars on milk weed plants.

Little feet.

Picking raspberries.

~A New Skirt~

Out of denim.

I copied off the pattern from a skirt that we bought at a thrift store.
And I so like the way it turned out.

Art.

Painting.

Chubb paints our neighbors barn.

Well, really he is staining it.

Progress.

Julia's Bible.

Ready for a hot next week coming up.

Basil.

Beauty in the simple-everyday things.

  1. We would have missed out on all of Keats beautiful poetry if he would have gone on and completed his doctor studies. I have not seen the movie but I always felt sorry for Keats not being able to marry Fanny because of his illness. I think it was Tuberculosis~like his mom and dad died of. I am not sure though. He would want us to remember his poems and not the sad stuff anyway. God bless,Rose
