Lovely weather, FREE books, and some musings

The days here in New England have been beautiful lately. Perfect Spring days with chilly mornings and warm afternoons. We've been spending hours outside, especially on the weekends.

This past weekend we took things easy and just relaxed We made a lot of food, took a lot of walks, visited the playground, and just spent time as a family.

Last night we went down to the ocean for a bit (I love living near it again!) and the kiddos had a BLAST. They splashed in the water (despite the fact that it was freezing) and had so much fun. We came home wet, sandy, and with treasures for the Nature Table.

Early last year I made the decision to get my kids outside every day, no matter what. We've always spent a lot of time outdoors, but I wanted to make it happen every day.

A year later and I've been pretty good at it (give or take a day or two).

I truly believe one of the greatest gifts that you can give your child is nature.

I'm so happy that my parents gave that gift to me.

And I get to give it to my children, now.

The best news that I have for this Tuesday is that one of our very favorite curriculums (The Good and The Beautiful) is giving away 75,000 free books! That's right! In an effort to encourage children to read more wholesome literature, they are hosting The Summer Reading Progam. Offering free books, reading lists, and fun reading charts with stickers!

You can choose a reading pack from K-12 and have it sent to you for FREE (shipping cost is $.99). If you would rather download your own PDF version and get the Summer Reading Pack right away you can do that as well! You can read more about this lovely mission, and see the Book Packs here

I'm off to start my morning, drink some coffee, and enjoy this rainy Spring morning with my littles.

Have a lovely Tuesday!

  1. Thanks for the heads up about the free books and the summer reading program! I've passed the info along to my daughter in law for my grands!
