what i've learned after living almost a year at deer pond farm

It's been almost a year since we unexpectedly packed up our apartment and moved way out here to the country. We've added another child and a whole bunch of animals to the family, along with learning and growing a lot as people (for both Adam and me). 

Looking back on this past year there are definitely a few things that really stand out to me that I've discovered since moving to this big white farmhouse, and (since I tell you guys everything) here they are.

+It IS possible in this day and age to live without cell reception.

+A four bedroom house is NOT too large for four people and a slew of pets.

+You literally can never have too big of a garden.

+Living across the road from an old empty prison is awesome.

+Being in the middle of the state forest means that you can walk out your door and be hiking almost right away.

+There are almost as many dirt roads as there are paved around here.

+Sunny kitchens are like breath for me. I need them in my life.

+Our plants love their south facing windows and have doubled in size since we've moved.

+A guest room is a wonderful thing. 

+In drafty old farm houses robes and slippers are a must-have.

+After a surprisingly short amount of time you can get used to having to gigantic sump pumps in the basement and eventually tune out the noise of them kicking on every hour.

+Driving 25 minutes to get to a grocery store means that when you go shopping you grab literally everything you can think of that you'll need for the next 100 years (just kidding. well, sort of).

Country life may be a pain at times but both Adam and I love it!

The canvas in the photo above was kindly sent to me from a Swedish Based company called Photowall, and I have to be honest here, when I selected the size I think I hit one that was a bit larger than I thought it would be. Because although I really, really love it, it's also HUGE.
Adri laughs and giggles every time she walks by it, and it's the cutest. I'm thinking I might move it to either her room, or above the stairs, but for now that is where it will stay (update: since writing this it's been moved to the landing).

The canvas itself is wonderful. The process to order is super simple and easy (it took me about 10 minutes to place my order) and it came nicely package. Do be aware that you have to put it together (mount the canvas on the frame), but that was not difficult at all and Adri helped me with it while Piper napped.

Also, can I just say, look how clear it is for being so large! The photo quality is great, and it's super, super sturdy.
