after the weekend: spring weather, yard work, hiking, and home

This past weekend was a busy one. On Saturday both Adam and I worked and then we kinda all just crashed for the afternoon. On Sunday it was the first real nice day we've had so far in months. We cleaned the yard, Adam worked on the gardens, and Adri explored. We drove down the road the where there is part of the Finger Lakes Trail and tried to go for a hike. After about a mile of walking on the very edge of a mountain with a rushing river below us we turned around and headed back. It was just a bit too steep too long for our liking. Once home we had lunch and then walked across the road, wandered the state land trails there for awhile and then checked out the old (empty) prison. Did I mention before that we live across the road from an old prison? Just one of those small, camp like New York ones, but fascinating all the same. We got sunburned faces, sore legs and had a blast.

Today we have a doctors appointment and it's the first time that Adam and Adri will be going with me. I can't wait for them to hear Bump's heartbeat!

Friday the little sister are coming over and we are dying Easter eggs. It's one of my all-time favorite things, dying eggs. Every year I think maybe I'm going to get fancy and make those really neat decorated eggs and then every year I just do those plain solid colored ones. We also have great plans to make an egg tree. Although I'm not sure if we're going to have time for that. We'll have to see, I guess.

Today is another lovely day. Adri already hanging out on the porch with a bucket of water and bubbles. I'm finishing my cup of coffee and answering some emails and then I'm off to join her.

Have a lovely Tuesday!
