Life Lately (warning: lots of rambling)

Is it just me or does this feel like it's been the longest week ever? It's gone by soooo slowly. Anyway, now it's Friday and even though I have work tomorrow I'm still so happy to see this week end.

I got almost all the Christmas gifts bought this week! (thank God for Amazon). I have some last odds and ends to buy as it gets closer to Christmas but at least I have all the big gifts on their way.
Now I need to just get busy with the things I'm making...

The forecast says snow all next weekend and the following week. We are going to be driving up to spend Thanksgiving with Adam's family this year and I'm really hoping the weather is not too terrible for driving (don't worry, I'm sure it'll be fine-I'm totally overthinking it...).

I finally broke down and hung some colored lights! Adri loves them! She goes over and very gently touches them and them laughs and points to them saying "Mama!". It's so cute how she has to tell me about EVERYTHING.

I checked out all the above Christmas books at the library the other night.
The Swedish Christmas Crafts is such a good one! I check it out every year and pour over it.
Oh, and of course I love Take Joy (you all know what big Tasha fans we are around here).

The other night I made roasted cauliflower for the first time and man, was it good. I'll never ever steam it again. Not ever.
Just break into large chucks, throw some pats of butter on top, salt and pepper and bake in a 350 degree oven until nice and browned.
Delicious.

There are some new items in the Shop! I really really love that vintage polka dot apron above but I can't justify keeping it since I've already got sooo many.

It's early right now as I type. Adri is playing with her stuffed animals and I'm drinking my coffee. I really have to go start my day though. I think we're going to try and make it to Storytime at the library later (why oh why does it always have to fall right at naptime?). I have bacon wrapped steak, with peas and mashed potatoes planned for dinner.  I'm also going to try and work on a few of those aforementioned Christmas gifts.

Have a wonderful weekend!
