Holiday Parties Made Easy {pine cone cheese ball recipe}

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know we sure did.
We arrived back home a couple hours ago and I'm just popping in to share this fun recipe that I made the other day.
I'll be back on Monday with a nice long newsy post about our trip!

When it comes to holidays and food sometimes I get a little stumped. If I was making the meal I'd have no problem, it's bringing a side dish that gets me every time. Really. I try to think of something relatively easy that (in a perfect world) I could make ahead of time and my mind goes b l a n k.

Well, I think my problem is finally solved. Enter Pine Cone Cheese Balls! These are yummy, easy to make, can be made ahead of time and look super elegant (always a plus!).

You will need:

2 8oz. containers of cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 a cup of grated cheddar cheese
1/2 a cup of grated Parmesan cheese (I like to use Stella)
About 2 teaspoons of finely chopped fresh dill
3-4 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled
Whole almonds

To make:

Mix the cream cheese and mayo well in a large bowl.
Add the cheeses, dill and bacon.
Mix well.

Mold into two pine cone like shapes. Stick you almonds in, starting at the front and moving to the back.
Chill at least 4-6 hours to let the flavors blend.
Best if served at room temperature.
Serve with crackers.

  1. I love the look of that cheeseball! I made a cheeseball for Thanksgiving, but it didn't look as cool as this. What a cool idea!
