after the weekend: hot and cold

What a crazy past two days. On Saturday it was beautiful outside, hot, sunny, and about 65 degrees and then overnight it cooled down and we awoke to snow outside!
We had such a nice weekend though. After work on Saturday, Julia, Aimaija, Celeisa, Adri and I went for a walk at the Art Park. It's only about 20 minutes away from us and it's the most wonderful place. You basically hike down trails and there are interesting pieces of art (many made by local artists) all over the place. While I was wandering at the park Adam was home making some delicious hamburger soup for dinner (I love that man!).  We finished the day curled up on the couch eating soup and watching a t.v show.
Sunday was a lovely, wintery day. We all slept in, had waffles and bacon for breakfast and watched the snow fall outside.  We lazed about the whole day, reading, catching up on Westworld, and napping. I also worked a bit on some Christmas gifts that I'm making (and I love how they are turning out!). Oh, and we watched a new movie, The Huntsman Winter's War. It was good but not really what we thought it was going to be. Still, like I said, it was good (mostly because of Chris Hemsworth ;)).
Now we have piles and piles of snow outside. I'm drinking coffee and Adri is playing with her sled (she keeps tossing all her stuffed animals in it and taking them for a ride). I have laundry to wash, dishes to put away, books to read with my Wee One, and this to make later, for dinner.

I hope each one of you has a wonderful Monday!

  2. Love your photos here, Rose! Our weather turned quickly too, the warmest of this autumn really fooled me about how close the holidays are...yikes! :) Feels so weird that Thanksgiving is here and Christmas is SO close. :)
