~The end of summer and the beginning of fall...

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:"
Ecclesiastes 3

When little girls pick goldenrod.

Making big piles.

While other little girls play with wood, " making things ".

The goose makes friendly noises.....

.....and the hay is brought in from the fields.

It is also time for buggy rides...

......the finding of orange pumpkins, hiding in the garden....

.......turtles hiding too.....

...with blue skies, full of big fluffy white clouds.

:~Inside~:

A special little girl turns three.

Blowing out birthday candles, with Daddy's help.

It is also a time to get out the teapots and mugs.
As we look forward to cool mornings.

The airing out the woolens...

...the knitting of new ones.

With the arrival of cooler weather, we are trying to get some fall cleaning done too....

....here at home.

  1. Rosie, fall is my favorite season! Here in Toronto, we can feel it's subtle approach. Dusk arrives a tiny bit earlier each evening. The autumn clematis in my garden is full of tiny-white stars, and I am dreaming of Thanksgiving (which is celebrated the second Monday in October in Canada).
Thank you for posting such lovely photos.
    Yours,
    Rosemary

  2. oh how I long for autumn! Today is really helping me to feel it...although the week previous was in the 90's! Today it is in the 60's and *quite* chilly!
A beautiful post...thank you for it!
    Have a lovely weekend!

  4. Rosie: Looks like y'all have been busy. Our weather is getting so nice here, cool in the mornigs and evenings and warm during the day. My allergies (ragweed season) don't let me enjoy the outdoors a lot, tho. Thanks for the great post, I always enjoy seeing what is going on. Much love - Raquel XO

  7. Rosie,

Autumn has not yet gotten to Houston and I miss it. The light has changed though and there is a different feel in the weather but I have months to wait until I need woolens.

Thank you so much for sharing you autumn with us. I needed this.

    Blessings,
