Another day at the homestead::

Hanging out the wash.

Julia reading.

Harvesting new potatoes, to go with meatloaf, steamed broccoli, and corn for dinner last night.

Aimaija, worked hard.

Carrying the box full to the house.

Celeisa's little-grubby-hardworking hands.

Last night, the house in quiet, peaceful stillness.

Good cookbooks, that are well used.

I've been having so much fun reading through old magazines.
The Saturday Evening Post and Good Old Days.

Things have changed so much in just the last 50 years.

The prices, the styles, the values.

I love the old hairstyles, but don't think I'd ever want to try them out myself, :)

Afternoon tea, we like our loose-leaf and strong.
Today was Jasmine tea, that we buy in bulk.

Usually it's just mugs, but sometimes we get fancy-
you know, the good old English lady style.

Washing up.

  1. Hey, I love that last photo of the dishes =) =)
Coming over soon do do your dishes (or, if you like, you can do mine)..

Thinking about it, you and I both know you're faster, so why don't you do the dishes while I dry them, and then I can go deep clean something while you do the dusting?? Oh, and can I still organize that video cupboard or did Julia do it already?
