after the week: autumn days

Happy Monday! We are having a busy one over here, with plans to have out with the cousins at the playground around the corner from us. 

We had quite the weekend! On Saturday, we went thrifting, and then for a walk at some state land that a few miles (maybe 5?) away from us. It was a lot of fun, and we got Uncle Oli to come with us! 

I've also been trying to incorporate some "Fall" activities in lately, and so we bought and painting some pumpkins on Friday. Adri was pretty creative with hers, while Piper basically mixed all her paints and the pumpkin ended up looking like it had been rolled in the mud (#twoyearolds).

On Sunday we went for a morning walk to the park down the road, came home, and then I unpacked some more boxes, and then the girls and I went and watched the Columbus Day parade. 

Then we came home, I made Chicken Parmesan for dinner, and then it was time for our bedtime routine (baths, brush teeth, stories, and bed). 

I also got around to unpacking our holiday-themed books, and we read some of our Halloween books for bedtime reading. That leads me to a question; do you keep your holiday-themed books with the regular books or separate them, like we do (we group our books by author, age, and genre-the librarian in me comes out strong when it comes to book organization). Oh, and we only pull those books out at the time of that particular holiday-the kids don't have access to them year-round.
