the other 4th

On Sunday we ended up having a second picnic (we had a picnic at our house on the 4th) at Wesley and Claire's house. This time, unlike the 4th, I made sure that I took some photos of everyone.
We had a lot of fun and it was really nice to all be together before everyone disperses this week to other places.

Today is another lovely day and after I'm done with work I'm taking the girls for a walk and then to play in the pool. We've been taking our daily walks again and there is something so invigorating about just getting out and soaking in some sun, even if it's only for a thirty minutes.

Our peas are in and we've been picking and eating them like crazy. We had such big plans for the garden this year and then with all that's happened we kinda didn't do anything more. So now we have peas, a couple broccoli plants, and one tiny tomato plant. Oh, well, at least we have the peas, right?

This week we don't really have any big plans. Tomorrow I'm going up to Wesleytown with the girlies, and this coming weekend I was hoping to maybe take Adri and Piper to the zoo. We haven't gone yet this year and I'm pretty sure that Piper will love it!

Happy Tuesday!

  1. What a good looking family! I’m glad you’ve all been able to get together and help each other through this tremendous loss. I know many people have been praying for you all!

    1. Hi Deanna,
Yes, it was really nice to all be together. We still need all the prayers that we can get, and really appreciate each and every one.

  3. Good your family has this time together...think a lot of all you all are going through. A drunk driver took out my brother at age 20 a few weeks before his intended wedding. It takes a long time to get past such things...loosing someone unexpectedly is so very hard...not to say any loss is not hard...they all are...blessings as you continue working through all of it!

    1. Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your brother, Elizabeth! And right before his wedding! That must have been so hard. I do think that the unexpected aspect makes it hard because there's no time to prepare, lots of things left unsaid, or things that should not have been said, etc.
I'm sure that in time things will be a bit easier, although right now they're not :)
