Thank-you

I have been blown away by all your kind words, thoughts, and prayers these past few days. The support from each one of you has been incredibly overwhelming. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you.
This last week was the most difficult and painful one that I have ever experienced. Seeing so many people that I dearly love that were feeling the same way made it only more hard.
On Sunday we had a simple service and friends (both old and new) showed up from near and far to come and remember my mom.
She was an incredible, loving, kind, sweet, thoughtful person who loved Jesus with everything in her.  She will be so greatly, greatly missed.

These two blog posts below, written by friends, pretty much sum up my mother so well.

Up In The Clouds, and So you say you're not making a difference?

We are all recovering after a very, very stressful ten days. Most of the family (brothers and sister) are still up here in New York and are staying indefinitely. I'm working hard today, stay busy, take care of my babies, and enjoy the sunshine.
I'm sure for a while here my posting will be sporadic as we move through these big changes. Please know how much I appreciate each and every one of you.

  1. Dearest Rosie,

My heart breaks for you. For all of you. I understand how you are feeling. You see, when I was but 28 years old, my own precious Mother passed unexpectedly. I had two little girls at the time, aged 3 and 15 months. I felt like the rug had been snatched out from under me, to put it mildly. That was in 1999. I'm still here, and time, and the wisdom that comes from living, but mostly the grace of God, has softened the blow a bit. Be kind to yourself in the coming days. Feel what you feel. I've found grief to be a bit like the tides: it comes in waves and you have to go with it.

With prayers for you and yours,

    Chrissy

  2. Sending you hugs in this difficult time...being I too was a mom when I lost my mom, it was the needs of my children that helped keep me going. No doubt the younger siblings will need you more too dear!! Non of my grandchildren knew my mom so I am in the process of writing all I can remember of her and her people. Even yet, years later, it helps bring me comfort. As well, as the many ways GOD gives comfort to us.

  4. It's comforting to hear from you, Annie. I've been thinking about you guys, and about your mom, almost nonstop these past few days. Yes, she will be missed always, by all who knew her. But she gave so much of her to her family, and spread so much love, that it is now ever-growing, and her light will never fade.

  11. I keep on praying for your family. Your mother, whom I only knew from her blog, was so special. But I am sure there is a lot of her in you and everyone in your family. Her influence was profound. It was wide-reaching. What a blessing she was to her family and to the world. Take time for your grief.

  12. Dearest Rosie,

I have just learned of your dear mothers passing and wanted to convey my deepest sympathies to the whole family.

I followed Jewel's blog from humble beginnings to the last of her posts and was saddened when she decided to shut down her blog, but completely understood the reasons. I learned so much from your mum and it sounds like she has blessed so many other dear hearts. She was indeed a very passionate woman who loved Jesus and her family with all her being.

Rest peacefully with Jesus dear sweet Jewels.

So much love to you all,

    xTania

  14. Dear Rosie,
I just came back to your blog after a long absence and was so shocked to hear that your mama passed away. I am so, so sorry for your loss.
I read your old blog for years and always was so impressed with your mom, who seemed to run such a large household and cared for such a large family with so much warmth, grace and love. When I was struggling as a mother, I often thought of her; as so many others have said already, she was such an inspiration to me.
May you be granted strength and courage at such a difficult time.
    Bless you and your family,
    Birgit
