it's been a long week (and it's only Wednesday)

This past week (and we're only half-way through it!) has been a rough one. Around here we have really good weeks, and then we had the average (which is most) weeks and then we have the really hard weeks
Mostly it has to do with me being super sick (on-the-couch-not-able-to-move-sick), but a big part is that Adam's schedule changed at work. He now goes in later, meaning he can sleep in later, meaning he goes to bed later. The problem is that this is all affecting my routine loving toddler. On Monday she was awake from 1am to 5am, woke up at 9am and didn't nap until 4pm, and then this morning she woke up when Adam got up for work at 4am, and didn't fall back to sleep until 6am. See? No rhyme or reason. And then because of  the weird sleep pattern she's been a grumpy wreck.

Oh, and did I mention that I'm missing a super important appointment this morning? Just due to a bit of a mix-up, and I have it re-scheduled, but stillll.
Of course the weather hasn't been helping either--it's been all cold, rain, and clouds. We desperately need some sun around here!

Okay. I'm done now. I mean, I know it's bad, but it could be worse. I'm just keeping it real, in case you happen to think things around here are always perfect, because it's not and there are always the difficult days/weeks. So far this week has been a way too much frozen pizza, t.v watching, lack of sleep, messy rooms, dishes-filled-sink, fussy toddler one.

And that's okay, because I know it's going to get better at some point, I just have to let go of the little things and focus on the really important stuff until it does.

Now I'm off to follow my own advice, finish my mug of tea, water some plants, and read some stories to my baby girl :)

Happy Wednesday!

    1. You made me laugh out loud with this comment, Espy! lol I would consider it, but when we have our lovely 75 degree summers I know it's too hot to go outside there! I think we'll stay put here and just complain about the cold and snowy winters ;)

  3. For a long time when I was raising our four children, I thought the planet would stop spinning if I didn't get all my work done everyday, whether I was sick or not. Finally, I learned to take time to be sick or time to rest and guess what? The planet just kept right on going even though there were dishes in the sink and laundry to be washed!!!
Take good care of yourself, Rosie. Like you said, this too will pass. I kind of feel guilty now buying something from your Etsy shop and making you mail it during a bad week! *-*

    1. Oh, my goodness, do't feel bad at all, Mona! We have to go to the post office pretty much every day anyway (either to mail stuff and/or pick up packages) since we don't have a mail box where we live.

And you are SO right. I've discovered everything works out just fine if I take things easy for a bit. lol The house doesn't burn down and no one starves!

    1. Sherry, I really love hearing from you moms that have already done this and raised your children. Somehow it's such an encouragement! This time around the morning (afternoon/night) sickness is really hitting me hard. Probably because this time I also have a toddler to take care of, lol.

    1. Thanks so much Cathy. She already getting a bit better and more on track, it just takes almost a week to get her there! lol I really don't do well at all when I don't get sleep (I'm sure no one does!) and everything goes downhill once I start running on a few hours or less of it!
