weekend things

Hello everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours went a bit differently than we had planned but it was still great!

Saturday afternoon Julia and I packed up Adri and went on an impromptu little road trip. We listened to music, talked, went to a couple thrift stores (where I found some super cute summer skirts, a sweater, and cute pair of pants), explored a few antique stores and got lunch. Sometimes the most spontaneous trips are the best, am I right?

It was warm on Sunday and while Adam and I were cleaning the house we opened some windows. It was nice to have a bit of fresh air, and the sunshine was amazing. Spring can't come soon enough!

My favorite little pal. See that pile of books? As she read them she was carefully setting them down in the pile next to her. So organized it scares me (she'll come to hate my less-organized ways as she grows older, I'm sure).

For some reason with this pregnancy all I want is fruit. I want it all the time and it doesn't matter what kind. So far I seem to be in luck because every time I'm at the store some kind of fruit is on sale, making it easy to keep our fridge stocked.
We have found that Adri loves grapes and strawberries, but apparently blueberries and blackberries are a huge NO.

Sunday morning I started working on Valentines, since I figure it's never too early to get a head start, right? These are for a gift/valentine exchange I am part of this year. Although the ladies in my group have been doing it for years, this is the first time I've taken part and I'm kinda excited about it.

It's a chilly 15 degrees outside right now, but with the sun shining it feels much warmer. We got a fresh snowfall last night and it sure looks pretty out there.
My morning cup of tea is brewing as I type and I'm off to sip it in a moment.
Adri is still sleeping--something that NEVER happens these days (her normal waking time is 6am lately). I can't lie, I'm really loving the peace and quiet right now ;)
I have a house to clean, dinner to plan (I think it's going to be pizza), and some work to get to.

Have a beautiful Monday!

  2. I craved fruit with both my pregnancies. The first was during winter and early spring so I assumed I needed the vitamins badly, and with the second, it was a mostly a spring and summer pregnancy, and I was so hot and I drank so much water and craved cold fruit, especially watermelon, and cucumbers, too. I could eat an entire personal sized watermelon in a day!! It was crazy.

    Best wishes!

    1. Jenny, that is so funny! With Adri all I wanted was salad and carbs (bread, pizza, and pasta). lol
I'm hoping this fruit obsession continues into summer though, when the fruit is fresh and local!
