give me all the (iced) coffee

It is finally Friday and boy, am I happy! This has been such a long week and I'm ready to see it end.
Lately I've been so sick and so tired that the week seems to all run together and I'm thrilled to see the weekend roll around and I know that Adam will home and I can take things easy.

So far we don't have a whole lot planned for the next couple days.
A friend is coming over for coffee this morning, another friend is bringing her two little girls over tomorrow to play with Adri, Adam is working tomorrow (I think), and that's about it.

Yesterday at the store there was a whole bunch of fruit on sale, so I filled our cart with pears, raspberries, and blackberries. Fruit is one of the things I can always eat, so I was pretty happy to stock up on it for about 1/3 of the usual price.

We have snow outside. I can see that we had a fresh snowfall last night, on top of what we already had. Sure is cold, but pretty.

These days I need all the energy I can get, and as much as I love my coffee, when I'm pregnant it's difficult for me to drink it hot. Enter iced coffee. Even in the winter time.
I've found that the easiest way to make it is simply 1. make a pot of  coffee in the french press. 2. leave it in the fridge overnight. 3. pour over lots of ice. I like to either add a bit of sugar and whole milk or my homemade coffee creamer (if I add the creamer I skip the milk).
That's it! Just three steps and you've got iced coffee.

Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi Espy,
We'd LOVE for it to be 59 degrees right now! lol I'm sure I wouldn't be feeling that way during the summer though--we're pretty found of our 75 degree summer days here in NY!
We had a wonderful weekend and I hope you had the same :)

  3. I can relate about coffee! When I had "morning" sickness, I couldn't stomach hot coffee anymore either. The iced coffee alternative is brilliant and looks so yummy! Congrats on your pregnancy, and I know how morning sickness can get! I finally found a miracle: Vitman B6 and half an Unisom pill at nighttime -- it took the edge off the continual nausea! Sadly it took me six pregnancies to find that wonderful combination of pills!

    1. Hi Carissa,
Thanks for the congratulations! I might have to try the B6 and Unisom, since the nausea is really starting to get bad these days. It's way worse than it was with Adri and since I have a toddler it's not like I can just go to bed and rest!
