after the weekend: capturing the moments

Things have been busy (as they tend to be Thanksgiving through Christmas) and I feel like time is flying by too fast. I want things to slow down to a snail's pace. I want to soak it all in and spend more time being, and less doing. Where do the days go go? Why is it that the older you get the faster time passes? I've decided to make a conscious decision to slow down these last few days until Christmas and instead of rushing to the next thing soak up the most important things in life. Longer cuddles in bed, let the mess in the house go, read more books, brew a big pot of tea, sit and watch the snow fall.

I think all these random thoughts are coming from last night when sitting on the couch holding my sweet, sleeping babe, reflecting on the past two days and how nice they had been and I realized yet another weekend has just passed by, just. like. that.
So many things to love; a new quilt for our bed, sunshine, cuddles with my sick, teething wee one, a giant roast turkey, reading, fat baby hands, ham dinner with siblings, coffee drinking, fresh snowfalls, and even a trip with the sister to see Fantastic Beasts. It really was sad to see yet another nice winter weekend draw to an end.

Speaking of an end, now it's back to the week, and things like laundry and house cleaning await me (mundane, but still, for me, enjoyable). However, as I said above, since Posie has been teething all she wants is cuddles, warm baths, and snuggles in bed so I think that's about all I'm going to get done today.

Have wonderful Monday.
