8 WAYS TO ENJOY FALL.

As I've said countless times before, I'm way more of a Spring/Summer kinda gal than a Fall/Winter one. I love sunshine and the heat. However, since where we live has a very short Fall and a very long Winter I've been working on ways to enjoy the colder months around here.

Here's a little list of 8 things to make the most out of these Autumn days.

  1. Get that list of books that you've always meant to read and haven't yet and place them beside your bed. Start making your way through them, just a little bit each night before you fall asleep.
  2. Collect a pile of cozy blankets and place them in a basket beside the couch to grab on chilly nights (or mornings).
  3. Start the habit of making yourself a mug of something hot to drink every night. Tea, hot chocolate hot apple cider, or warm milk.
  4. Go for a hike or a drive in the country and admire all the fall colors.
  5. Fill a pan with water, a cinnamon stick, and some nutmeg, and simmer on the stovetop.
  6. Splurge and buy a comfy new sweater. Find something big and chunky that will keep you warm.
  7. Pick a new family read-aloud and try reading just a little bit of it each night. A few good read ones (off the top of my head) are, Little House in the Big Woods, Ice Slide Winter, The Hobbit, Meet The Malones, The Perilous Gard, Five Little Peppers, The Horse and His Boy, and The Ordinary Princess.
  8. Candles, candles, candles. I have candles in almost every room of our apartment. Every morning when we wake up I like a couple candles in the living room and then a scented one in the kitchen. At night I do the same-only I also light the oil lamp too. Candles make everything so much more cozy and homey, in my opinion.

    1. Deanna, I know you are! I SO wish I could get more into it as well. I think it has something to do with living in NY and it being so cold. Basically we don't really get an Autumn, it's more like two nice weekends and then winter is here! lol
