How the New Year's goals are working out.

I can't believe we are more than half-way through 2016. So crazy. I figured since we are now working on the last half of this year, I'd go back and read over my New Years resolutions/goals. You know, just to see if I'm actually getting anywhere with them ;)

Lets see.....
  • eat better (more green foods). so far this one has been going really good. we've been eating way more veggies, and I've been working on less carbs, and sugar.
  • exercise at least once a day. yes, this too. Adri and I have been taking a daily walk, every day, except for rainy days.
  • read more. I've been reading wayyyy more too. About three books a week, or more, depending on their size. and how busy I am.
  • smile a lot.  hahaha. Working on this one. I have so much to be thankful for, and I am very happy with my life. So yes, I do have a lot to smile about.
  • laugh often. same as above... ;)
  • bake bread once a week, and try a new bread recipe at least a couple times. I realized after writing this. There is no way that we would eat a loaf of bread a week. We just don't eat that much bread. Anyway, I have been baking bread more often, just not a whole loaf every week.
  • complete Adri's baby blanket. I did it! See here.
  • finish all half-done sewing projects.  still working on this one....
  • make pickles this year (I really want to learn how to make pickles). same here, once there are cucumbers out for sale at the farms, I'll grab a bunch and make my pickles.
  • start drawing more often again.  this too has happened. I've been drawing more, and recently even drew a logo design for a friend's photography business!

  • journal more. nope. But does blogging a lot count?
  • drink (lots) more water. it's summer. I've been drinking water like a fish. all. the. time. with lemon, with ice, just by it's self. water, all the time.
There is it. I think so far I'm on the right track--yay for reaching goals!

{pictures. Yesterday, up in Wesleytown. I read and Adri ran about, everywhere. Just a nice lazy day. The best kind}

  1. Hi Rosie!

Great job on your new year's goals! I am appreciating the "more blogging" a lot. I love reading what you write and seeing the pictures-you have a great eye! It's so nice to step into someone else's shoes for a bit of escapism, isn't it?

I'm doing well on some of my goals too. I'm practicing my Japanese more and eating better. ( I actually became a vegetarian in May-I thought I would crumble, but I'm doing well, there are so many options!)

Do you have a GoodReads account? I've been doing more reading too, but right now I'm in the middle of about 5 books-haha! I keep seeing ones I want to read in the library. Luckily I can bounce back and forth and not get anything mixed up. Currently, I'm reading "Alice in Wonderland", "The Clocks" by Agatha Christie, "All Quiet on the Western Front" and "The Passage" by James Cronin!

  2. Hi Diane,
Thanks for all your sweet words about blogging! It's funny, because a lot of the time I forget people are even reading my blog, and it's nice to hear from someone who really likes what I have to say! lol
Wow, Japanese? I'm impressed! Other than a bit of ASL, I don't know any other language ;)

A longgggg time ago I did have a GoodReads account, but I was so busy I kinda just let it go by the wayside. It's such a nice way to keep track of the books you read though! Alice in Wonderland is my all time FAVORITE books ever! lol And I've never read any Agatha Christie (I love the Miss Marple movies!), but I really want too!
