Evening.

It has been a long day. Starting at 5:30 am and work ending at 4:00 pm.
All is quiet at the moment, other then the sound of Cathy Ryan singing on my ipod-my roomate has left for the evening and I'm all on my own in this rambling ole' farmhouse, sitting curled up in front of my woodstove, with a big mug of mint tea beside me.

Later a friend is coming over to join me in making pizza and to watch a movie, but for now, all is peacefulness.

There is a bit of cold, wet snow on the ground outside and I'm not sure if the weather can make up it's mind-lately it has been warm at first, and then cooled done almost right away. In some ways it feel more like November right now instead of the beginning of December.

I have been working on Christmas gifts, Although with my busy work schedule I have been having a bit of trouble fitting in time to knit, sew or paint, so not as many of my gifts will be handmade as they were last year. Still, I have been grabbing a  moment here and there to work on them.

“After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”

  1. I've been trying to get some gifts made too.

I need to get busy, if I am going to get them done!

    Have a lovely evening.

  2. Oh, what a familiar quote! I'm just finishing up Anne of Green Gables for the second time around! Such a delight!
