Still Here.

::Daybook: 5:22:2013:

::Outside my window: It is gray and cloudy, but the weather says it is going to be up in the 80's~~hot and muggy!

::I am thinking: That I have been a dreadful blogger of late. Things have just been so very busy around here, thus the lack of time for blogging.

::I am thankful: Hmmm, at this moment? That I have a big mug full of coffee beside me.

::In the kitchen: Right now since it is still morning there is not much going on, but last night I did make a big pot of meatballs, alfredo sauce, pasta and homemade French bread {that actually tasted like real French bread!}.

::I am wearing: Well, truth be told I am in farm clothes right now, and as we all know, farm clothes are not the most stylish of things to wear. That said, I am wearing jeans, brown striped tee shirt and a flowered sweatshirt.

::I am creating: This drawing:

::I am going: To be heading out to the barn in a few minutes....

::I am reading:  Right now I am re-reading Les Miserables, Walk Across America 2, and The Lays Of Beleriand. I am starting to realize that it may not be the best method to be reading through three {or more!} books at once, although I have been doing it for so long, I am not sure if I can break the habit.
Also I just read this wonderful quote from The Fellowship Of The Ring:

"Such was the virtue of the land of Rivendell that soon all fear and anxiety was lifted from their minds. The future, good or ill, was not forgotten, but ceased to have any power over the present. Health and hope grew strong in them, and they were content with each good day as it came, taking pleasure in every meal, and in every word and song
So the days slipped away, as each morning dawned bright and fair, and each evening followed cool and clear. But autumn was waning fast; slowly the golden light faded to pale silver, and the lingering leaves fell from the naked trees. A wind began to blow chill from the Misty Mountains to the east. The Hunter’s Moon waxed round in the night sky, and put to flight all the lesser stars."

::I am hoping: To try and catch up on another episode of Call The Midwife this evening~I am slowly making my way though the second season and thoroughly enjoying it!

::I am looking forward to: Dance lessons this evening. Julia and I are learning the West Coast Swing and Waltz.

::I am excited: Because Olivia is home again and back to blogging!

::Around the house: All is quiet~I can hear a few people stirring about and the washer is running in the other room.

::One of my favorite things: Right at this moment: the sound of rain falling on the roof, the mooing of cows, steaming hot coffee and freshly washed curtains.

::A few plans for the rest of the week: Work, a horseback ride, a trip to visit with a friend on Friday, to go caving and play croquet, and a trip to town to get a library card {yay!}.

And below, a photo of Julia and I. Even though it is old, it is one of my favorite photos of the two of us.

  2. I was out in my garden yesterday planting seeds and hoping no one was there with a camera!

    The first season of Call the Midwife was good but I have truly loved each episode of this one. I read the book at a friend's recommendation and enjoyed it, too.

  5. I don't know if you ever look for new authors, but I have really enjoyed Chautona Havig's work. She is a Christian fiction writer and regularly gives away free books for Kindle (or the computer). If you have a Kindle, I could lend you mine to see if you like her. :) (I don't have any relationship with Chautona--have never even met her!--but I really like her books and I think based on your other reading selections you might too.)
