:~:From the weekend....

Well, things are still busy here, and I don't have much time to write, so, I will just post the pictures from over the weekend, and these two good links....

::A wonderful blog post by Ann, "when you're finding it hard to be patient".

::This lovely song, by Audrey Assad.

"You could plant me like a tree beside a river
You could tangle me in soil and let my roots run wild
And I would blossom like a flower in the desert
But for now just let me cry

You could raise me like a banner in a battle
Put victory like a fire behind my shining eyes
And I would drift like falling snow over the embers
But for now just let me lie

Bind up these broken bones
Mercy bend and breathe me back to life
But not before You show me how to die

Set me like a star before the morning
Like a song that steals the darkness from a world asleep
And I'll illuminate the path You've laid before me
But for now just let me be

Bind up these broken bones
Mercy bend and breathe me back to life
But not before You show me how to die
Oh, not before You show me how to die

So let me go like a leaf upon the water
Let me brave the wild currents flowing to the sea
And I will disappear into a deeper beauty
But for now just stay with me
God, for now just stay with me."

Julia, holding Eleanor.

Sleepy baby.

A little writer.

Josie, Maggie, Georgie and Eleanor came over last week to play for the day.

Outside.

Autumn, Aimaija and Celeisa, reading Elsie's new cookbook with her....

Nicholai's new venture-he got some chicks!
He has been spending every chance that he has, taking care of them, and also reading all the chicken "how to" books he can get his hands on.

Last Saturday, Joe, Julia and I took Autumn to an Amish store that is nearby, The Falls, and then to a farm near us that has some friendly animals....
{many thanks to Joe, for letting me take all the pics from off his phone!}

We found a patch of wild leeks, and picked a bunch!

This was so neat, a bridge for the goats to cross the path to the other side!

  6. That goat bridge gave me quite a laugh. We have had goats some years of our lives...they are such funny creatures!!

We used to raise a few chickens each year IN TOWN when our girls were in 4-H...there is some of the cheapest and easiest to understand animal information...hope the chicken raising goes very well!! When you have a small flock they are such amazing pets too!!

  10. Hi Rosie~thanks for sharing Audrey Assad's song. It brought tears to my eyes! Just beautiful. You guys are having so much fun! The little ones are so blessed that they have eachother to play with. You look ready for a long hike with your pants on. I have to wear pants whenever I am in the woods because of the ticks here. Autumn looks so at home in your household. You are so blessed to have a houseful of children. I know it is hard work sometimes, but they have eachother to play with and that makes all the difference. Have you been knitting any dishcloths lately? I have to look back on your posts to see if I can find your pattern or else I can just make one up myself. You and your Julia knit so nicely. God bless you all, Rose

  11. Looks like you are having a lovely time! Wish we had such "goat bridges" around here, so the goats wouldn't cross the road right under our car's nose!

  12. Tracy, we all had such a wonderful time with Autumn!

    elizabeyta, we did! :)

    Hi Amy,
Isn't Audrey Assad's music so wonderful? That has always been one of my favorite songs too.

    Brenda,
The bridge was even better in person, watching all the goats walking up it!

Rosemary, there was not one~to be on the safe side I checked ;)

Elizabeth, we always are shocked at how many animals you can raise on such a small amount of land~we had one acre, and raised rabbits, chickens, goats, ducks, and even geese on it!

Hi Cathy, yes it is a nickname :)

    Hi Katy,
Thank-you :) And a big hello to you and all the wee ones there :)

Hello to you too, Raquel, and much love :)

    Hi Rose,
Yes, we had a wonderful time with Autumn :) I am still knitting dishcloths, I am not sure if a shared the pattern in the past, but I'll try to post it again some time :)

    Hi Anna,
Hello to you! We had a great time with Autumn, and I can't imagine having goats wandering around in the road! ox

  14. I just recently discovered your blog and I am loving it. I have to ask out of curiosity...do you all homeschool? I am a homeschool mama of four boys. I am hoping to get some goats next year and I just loved seeing that goat bridge. It doesn't look like there is a troll under it, thank goodness. [o=

  15. Cathy, I have heard "Winter Snow" before, and it is another one of my favorites. Thanks for thinking of me and recommending it :)

Mary, yes, my mom has always home schooled us~only the four youngest are being home schooled now, the rest of us are graduated.
Oh, and goats are *so* much fun, I hope it works out for you to get some :)
