::blog notes: March 23:2012

Outside my window:

The sun is shining, and it is warm.
The past few days have been the nicest that we have had so far...it feels more like June then March!

I am thinking:

That I really should try and get a long walk in today...

In the kitchen:

Starting some bread, to go with Stuffed Peppers for dinner. Some cinnamon buns would be nice too...

I am working on:

Finishing up painting the book shelf I have been working on...my dad made it way back when he was a boy, and with a new coat of paint {a lovely green} it will be just perfect in my room...

I am going:

To head out to the garden and continue yesterday's work of clearing it out and getting ready for our neighbor to plow it.

I am reading:

Trusting God, by Jerry Bridges
~~
This wonderful prayer by Scotty Smith, here.
~~~
And this good article about reading aloud, here.
~~
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7
~~
I am looking forward to:
Seeing Abbie's sweet sis Sophie, who is coming to visit James and Abbie{all the way from Norway} for a few weeks. It will be so nice to see her again!
I am hearing:
The David Nevue station playing on Pandora.
A few plans for the rest of the week {end}:
Not too much happening, just the usual~ Saturday cleaning, and church on Sunday.
I am hoping to fit in a bit of sewing time {Abbie gave me some wonderful wool cloth for my birthday, and I am planning on making something nice out of it!}
Some pictures from our past few days...
  5. Ah, I loved Trusting God by Jerry Bridges, as well as everything else I've ever read by him. I really like his writing. He came and spoke near our town once and I was very impressed by his very humble, quiet nature and deep love for God that was very evident when he spoke.
    Wow, Nicholai is looking more grown up even since I saw him last. I love that shot with him and the dog - makes me miss him (Nicholai, not the dog ;)
    Love to all...
    Katherine,
    I think my mom used a kind of spray adhesive, that you can get from the craft store~but we have used tape in the past :)
    Hi Carl!
    I am about half-way through the book,and it is so good! How wonderful that you were able to hear him speak :)
    Yes, Nicholai is getting really big~he is taller than Julia now! (well, I guess that would not be too hard to be!!)
