~"~A Summer Collage...

Pondering life from a different view.

Still more sock knitting, this pair is for Nicolai, as he has been patiently awaiting his pair.

“Books in the study, books in the drawing room, books in the cloakroom, books (two deep) in the great bookcase on the landing, books in the bedroom, books piled high as (a child’s) shoulder in the cistern attic, books of all kinds…, books readable and unreadable, books suitable for a child and books most emphatically not.”
C.S. Lewis

Looking forward to fried green tomatoes and later on, sauce, tomato salad, and just plain with salt...

Evene squash blossoms can turn into art.

In the heat of the midday, the plants tend to get get rather wilt~y...

  5. I love that quote by C.S. Lewis and heartily agree.

The garden is looking really good - except the heat wilting...we are sweltering here, our garden is looking good, though.

I am doing some sewing of skirts this week - then I want to get some knitting started...I miss it.

One day perhaps we can work in a visit - maybe in early autumn - after the summer work is past...

    Blessings

  8. Rosie, The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I see so much of your sweet mother in your blog. Please give her my love and let her know how much I miss her.
Your photos are lovely. We love tomatoes here. My favorite way is a tomato sandwich with mayo. :) Stay cool!

  12. I love that Organic Life book. It's so inspiring. Could I make a post request? It would be so wonderful and interesting if you would post how your family takes care of your home. What your schedule is like, the types of products you use or home ingredients, little tips you've found to make the housework more smooth and efficient, etc. I struggle with my little family of four and keeping our home cozy and clean, and always wonder how large families really do it. Your home is so inviting - I never see dust anywhere! I remember seeing a picture of you on your mother's blog with a feather duster and wondered if you dusted everyday with that. I've always hated those - they seem to just toss the dust around, but I feel like if that's what you guys do then I'm missing a trick somewhere. I would so appreciate a post like that if you ever had the time or interest!

  13. Lovely photos.

I always like seeing the ones with the sweet children or books. And nice quote from C.S. Lewis.

  14. What a sweet request from Jen. Rosie, I think this is what draws many of us to you and your mama's blogs. Your home looks so cozy and inviting. More then the exact specifics of how you clean, I somehow (and for some reason) envison the chores being done with the right attitude. Work is work and it must be done, but how wonderful to be able to live in a home where the family works together to get the chores done with an attitude that really reflects "as unto the Lord". The pictures on your blogs and the things you and your mama write send this message to our hearts.
Whenever we sit and ponder your pictures we always wonder how the littler ones don't just get in there and strew it all over the house. This would cause stress and exasperation to me! I realize of course that your family isn't perfect and that blogs sometimes portray things in a manner that all is always lovely, but I think your family has somehow truly found the key and I know that key is Christ and His Grace. Some people just seem to have the gift of calling down His grace in all situations! :) May He continue to bless you and your lovely family as you continue to bless us all.
    JMJ,
    Laura
