:~The first day of Spring....

...is finally here, and it seems as though all of our snow have left with it's arrival.
The weather has warmed up, the sun was shining today, and there were even birds singing this morning!

"Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.

All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.

All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us."

  5. Oh Rosie, we long for spring here in Toronto. One day the temperature is hopeful, then the next it dips way back down. I did see several snowdrops peeking through the snow!
I really like seeing all the children and babes in your photos.
    Yours,
    Rosemary

  8. Beautiful pictures as always Rosie!
I really love the photo of you --- with your boots----very spring-like. :-)
I also really like Julia's new haircut--does she?
It's been a very long time since I've had a sled ride---I've lived in a hot, humid climate for 31 years now---I forget what it's like to play in the snow. ;-)

  9. Such an artful blog. I love how it starts with the goodies from the kitchen and ends with the smiles of sweet little faces.

The preface of Joseph relaxing by the wood stove sets the mood for what follows, with the juxtaposition of the computer against the stacked wood representing the old-fashioned lifestyle in a modern setting of a blog (well that was my interpretation anyway).

Oh, and I'm amazed that someone else in the world brews kombucha and cultures yogurt. It would be fun to trade recipes someday.
