'round home.....

~Knitting dishcloths~

We are still surround by fluffy whiteness, here in Wesleytown. The wind is howling and it is a slushy rain/sleet that is coming down.
Stan Lee has a new job, start this week, on the farm over the hill. He is enjoying it and working away hard.
It is strange having all the fellas ( all but Nicholai ), off and away during the day.

Homemade bread-sticks, made with The Best Bread Ever recipe.

We had them for dinner last night, with chicken stew. It was the perfect cold winter night supper.

Letting it rise by the wood stove.

Stacks of good books.

"In a good bookroom you feel in some mysterious way that you are absorbing the wisdom contained in all the books through your skin, without even opening them."

~Mark Twain

::::

I spent this winter afternoon, re-arranging my book shelves, and going through sewing projects that are half finished, and in desperate need of finishing.
I am shocked at how many I have that need hemming, buttons etc.... maybe I need to do a bit more less knitting and more sewing!

In the kitchen there is chicken stock simmering away.

Dinner is cooking, the last of our pork ( two roasts) , with potatoes and onions- it is making the best of smells through out the house!

I think I may have told you that I brought my oldest granddaughter (who turns nine today) to your blog when I was visiting to inspire her.

  12. I missed this post somehow. I found it today, coming back to find the bread recipe!

Dough now rising, waiting to be made into yummy loaves of bread! Delightful!

I am wondering how Nicholai is adjusting to being the only man around? All the children must miss Stan Lee so much - he being the ringleader of fun times....

Thanks again for sharing the bread recipe...
