~Apron Sewing~

Today was a good sewing day.

I finally went to work on those aprons for our dear friend, Jasmine, who has been kept waiting far too long for them.

(my inspiration comes from that old 1920's magazine, above)

Using an old apron as the pattern.

Julia modeling the blue checked one.

The back.

Converse style!

Then there is the brown one. The front.

The side.

And the back.

If you like these aprons. I also have a variety of similar ones, for sale, in my Shop.

  1. Rosie, I find your definition of "home" very similar to mine. Your pictures are beautiful! As I travel this journey, I strive to make my home as full of love and laughter as yours seems to be!
    Warm Regards,

  2. They look wonderful Rosie! I am sure that your friend waited patiently because she knew that the end result would be worth the wait :-)

  4. I really need to hurry up and make mine. I've had the fabric on the shelves for a while, but just haven't done anything. I do love the crossover in the back. The ones I have tie around the neck, and it is most uncomfortable, certainly not conducive to proper posture. I will be attempting to make one or two with the crossover. Hopefully it will alleviate the neck irritation.

  5. Lovely aprons so beautifully displayed ... which just goes to show that everything goes perfectly with a pair of Converse! ;o)

  6. We need some new aprons around here! I am sewing this weekend, so perhaps I will include a new apron or two...

I like the ones you made very much!

  8. I do like! I have tried the crossover strap before (in a wider style) and did not like it on my apron. I may have to try it with a thinner strap. Thank you for the idea. I get tired of sitting on the not or bow of the apron in the middle of my back.

  9. Oh I like that style! It would be perfect for my mom as she does not like trying to tie aprons on, especially in the back. Very nice!

  10. Hello Rosie...I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I noticed recently, that a lot of people from my blog click over to your blog through a link I have to here. I just wanted to make sure this was OK to you or if you were trying to be a little more private or not?

If the traffic of people coming from my blog is too much...please let me know! :) You don't have to publish this comment, if you don't want to. Just my way of communicating with you to see if you were OK with the larger number of people seeing your blog! :)

    Katy :)

  14. I for one am SO glad to have found your blog, Rosie! And I found it just how Katy said, via her blog. See, I have been a long time admirer of your Sweet Momma's blog. Her words and photos just soothe my soul. Since she's more quiet in this season, imagine how happy my heart was to find you through Katy! You write so much like your momma. I love the peeks into your life, and your quiet gentle way inspires me in my own homemaking. Thank you from a Sister in Christ!
